Diamond, green and pink necklace

'Colourful and timeless' tourmalines, handmade in 18ct yellow gold.

£1,200

The name tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese term 'turmali', which was the name given to all coloured crystals on the island of Sri Lanka in the late 1600's – early 1700's. This all inclusive name indicates the inability of ancient gem dealers to differentiate tourmaline from other stones. In fact, at one time in history, pink and red tourmaline were thought to be rubies. Pink tourmaline tends to be pinker in color than ruby.

These colourful green trillion and pink tear cabochon cut tourmaline stones are set in 18ct yellow gold. Linked together with a round brilliant cut diamond. Fixed to a traditional solid fine curb chain with strong trigger catch. Each setting is handmade for each stone and they are articulated to give movement to the drop pendant.
